Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi (CHP) Araştırma Komisyonu tarafından Balıkesir'in Edremit ilçesine bağlı Zeytinli Belediyesi’nin organizasyonunda “Zeytin Yasası, Kaz Dağları ve Marda Dağı’na Etkileri” konulu toplantı düzenlendi.
Zeytinli Rio Clup salonunda gerçekleştirilen toplantıya çok sayıda CHP’li katılırken, altın arama çalışmaları hakkında görüşler belirtildi. CHP’nin, Kaz Dağları'nda yapılan siyanürle altın arama çalışmalarının etkisiyle bölgede meydana gelebilecek çevre kirliliğini ve bölgenin diğer sorunlarını yerinde incelemek üzere kurduğu komisyonun başkanı İstanbul Milletvekili Bihlul Tamaylıgil ve diğer üyeler, Adana Milletvekili Nevin Gaye Erbatur, Balıkesir Milletvekili Ergün Aydoğan, Çanakkale Milletvekili Ahmet Küçük, Edirne Milletvekili Bilgin Paçarız, Eskişehir Milletvekili Murat Sönmez, İstanbul Milletvekili Çetin Soysal, Kırklareli Milletvekili Tansel Barış ve Mersin Milletvekili Ali Rıza Öztürk'den toplantıyı sonuna kadar takip ederek halkın görüş ve düşüncelerini not aldı. Akçay Belediye Başkanı Cahit İnceoğlu, Güney Marmara Doğayı ve Çevreyi Koruma Derneği (GÜMÇED) Başkanı Mehmet Akif Öznal, Edremit Ticaret Odası Başkanı ve Akçay Belediye Meclis Üyesi Erol Ürer gibi isimlerinde katıldığı toplantı yaklaşık 3 saat sürdü. Konuşmalar yapan GÜMÇED Başkanı Öznal ile Başkan İnceoğlu, görüşlerini ve yapılması gerekenleri ortaya koyarken izleyicilerden alkış aldı. Sırasıyla söz alan CHP’liler ve vatandaşlar ise rahatsız oldukları konuları ayrıntılarıyla anlatma imkanı buldu. Toplantı boyunca CHP Araştırma Komisyonu üyeleri konuları not alarak değerlendireceklerini söyledi. Ayrıca toplantı sırasında yağan sağanak yağmur nedeniyle elektrikler kesildi ve toplantı sonuna kadar ışık ve ses tesisatları kullanılamadı.
